Privacy Policy
What OC Water Heater Pros collects when you use this website, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
Who we are
OC Water Heater Pros ("we", "us") is a water heater repair, replacement and installation company based in Orange, California, serving Orange County. This policy covers the website at waterheaterprosoc.com and the information you give us through it.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you send a request through a form on this site, we receive:
- your name and phone number
- your email address, if you choose to give it
- your city or service address
- your message about the water heater, and the best time to reach you if you pick one
If you call us, we keep your phone number and the details you give us about the job so we can quote and schedule the work.
Information collected automatically
- Visit details. The pages you view, the site that referred you, how long you stay on a page, and any advertising campaign tags in the link you arrived on (for example utm parameters or an ad click id). These tell us how people find us and which requests came from our advertising.
- Technical logs. Like any website, our hosting servers keep standard request logs (IP address, browser type, date and time) for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Described in the next section.
Cookies, Google Tag Manager and advertising measurement
As our cookie banner says, we use cookies to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising, and declining keeps the site fully working.
- Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google advertising tags. We load Google Tag Manager on every page using Google Consent Mode. Analytics and advertising storage start switched off. They only turn on if you choose Accept in the cookie banner. If you choose Decline, those tags do not set analytics or advertising cookies.
- Your cookie choice. We remember Accept or Decline in your browser's local storage so the banner does not ask again on every page.
- Session storage. For the length of your visit we keep a random visit id, how you first arrived (referrer and campaign tags), and whether the offer pop-up has already been shown. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab and is not a cookie.
- Google Maps. The map on our Contact page is only loaded if you have accepted cookies or choose "Show the map". Google may set its own cookies once it loads.
To change your choice later, clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser settings; the banner will appear again on your next visit. Your browser settings can also block or delete cookies at any time. This site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
How we use your information
- to respond to your request, give you a quote and schedule service
- to contact you by phone or email about the job you asked about
- to provide, invoice and follow up on the work we do for you
- to understand how the website is used and which advertising brings in requests
- to keep the website secure and working
- to meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations
We do not send marketing drip emails from form submissions.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it with other businesses for their own marketing. If you accept cookies, Google's advertising tags may receive information such as pages visited and device or cookie identifiers so we can measure our ads. California law can treat that as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time by declining cookies, as described above.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the website and the business:
- Our website and marketing provider, which builds and hosts this website and runs the system that receives form requests and visit details on our behalf, and its cloud hosting provider.
- Google, for Tag Manager, Analytics, advertising measurement and Maps, as described above.
- Providers we use to run the business, such as phone, scheduling, invoicing and payment services, only as needed to serve you.
- Authorities, if the law requires it or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep request and customer records for as long as we need them to respond, provide and stand behind the work, and to meet tax and legal record-keeping requirements. Visit details and logs are kept only as long as they are useful for the purposes above. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and access to customer records is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax purposes)
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell it; see above for advertising cookies)
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information; we do not collect sensitive personal information through this website
- Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights. You will not be charged more or offered worse service for asking.
In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, phone number, email address, service address), internet activity (pages viewed, referrer, campaign tags) and commercial information (the service you asked about).
